Hardware Lease Management
Process and strategy to procure all standard workstation and server hardware and software that conforms to OPS IT strategy and furnishes adequate functionality to the business while managing cost to the organization.

- delivery of new desktops and servers within 5 working days (8am-6pm) or less on average
- delivery of new desktops and servers within 14 working days of request, exclusive of lead times required by other parties, 95% of the time

How are we doing ?
- care and management of leased equipment including ability to produce equipment for return on an as required basis
- arrange access to premises where equipment is to be installed
- if necessary, arrange access to network hubs, routers, etc
- formally accept installed equipment
Administrative costs are paid through an annual appropriation to the ebcIT Division through the Ministry of Labour as negotiated during the annual government-wide fiscal budgeting process.
Business Units are charged annually for yearly portion of total leased costs of equipment ordered.

- Ability to identify location and value of equipment is enhanced by an effective Asset Management system
- maintenance of Vendor Of Record agreement by MBS
- integrity of Cluster Purchasing Order administration
- user access and willingness to accept equipment
- EDS if wiring is required
- viability and integrity of Cluster charge-back system and procedures
- Manage contract with equipment Vendor of Record.
- Installation at client site includes:
- Hardware configuration
- Loading of operating system and drivers
- Loading of ebc standard image
- Power system up and boot
- Factory quality inspection and release
- Staging and pre-testing
- Shipping to installation location
- On-site installation includes the following:
- Unpack, inspect, and assemble
- Install at the desktop
- Test, including installation of appropriate service tools
- Verify software configuration
- If required, connect and verify LAN access
- If required, connect and verify connections to mini or mainframe hosts
- If required, connect and verify remote service access connection
- If required, connect and verify peripherals
- Verify complete system and network operability
- if required, backup and transfer client data
- provide client orientation
- explain and initiate acceptance test
- disconnect and remove replaced equipment and packing material
- Manage leasing arrangement.
- Deal with Microsoft (MS) vis-à-vis licensing of their products
- Updates and furnishes MS software upgrades monthly and manages licences.
