Biography

Since May 2001, I have been an independent ITIL consultant specializing in IT Service Management best practice implementations. An example of my approach to service management improvement can be found at hci-itil.com. Click on "Service Management Approaches"

Prior to this I had a career in the Ontario Public Service. I worked in eight different Government organizations in a number of capacities. I developed a reputation as a technical innovator and solid team player. I have a talent for promoting technology to solve business problems.

Indeed, I have been involved with technology for most of my working life. As a Business Solution Consultant, I balanced the often competing interests of business units with those of the central technology provider. Leading up to the year 2000 millennium I was on assignment to ensure that the Justice Cluster of ministries, composed of over 15,000 desktops and servers and 22,000 users, remained Y2K ready. To accomplish this I led a team of 8 consultants involved in remediating suspect personal computers and servers and testing software for Y2k compliance.

I have developed numerous intra and internet sites and am widely recognized for the quality and entertainment value of my electronic presentations. I have delivered presentations on IT Service Management improvement describing ITIL, CMMI and CobIT frameworks and how they might compliment each other. In another job setting, I made over fifty presentations to various purchasing groups throughout Ontario on the Province's plans for electronic tendering services and on the corporate contracts available to public sector buyers through the Ontario Government.

I have Master's Degree from the University of Windsor as well as Master's Certifications in both ITIL and Project Management.
